Acting godly will not help anyone when the storms and pressures of life hit home. Indeed, some of us take religion to an unknown level. What I mean is that, acting religious gets us nowhere. The key word here is “acting”. Brothers and sisters, God is not auditioning for actors or actresses. God wants us to trust and have faith in his plans and purposes. Once a person becomes a true Christian the training begins. What training? The training to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions and learn to live a self-controlled, upright, and godly life while patiently waiting for the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ to appear(See Titus 2:11-14). You see, when the trials and tribulations of life hits home, that’s when the acting ceases and a person’s true character is exposed. Isn’t it funny how we get real when things get ugly? The only one who can help us is our God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who left behind the great comforter, His Holy Spirit to guide us through the intricate mazes of life. Now some of you may not be acting religious but instead, may be acting like you can handle the trials of life all by yourselves. It does not matter if a person believe or even like God, every good and perfect gift comes from Him. Yeah, you may be handling things…but not really. God is love and keeps on giving love. He even gives love to those who dishonor, disrespect, talk about and absolutely hate him. The fact that haters are still here shows His love. So to all those who lightly esteem God, the haters of God and anyone perpetrating a fraud and especially those who, think they know it all …it’s probably a good time to honestly re-evaluate and then take a more grateful approach to life’s trials and give God his props, the praise He so deserves for helping us . Be real sincere, totally transparent and straight-up admitting weakness and failures to God and then lean on His everlasting arms for abundant life and great joy…even during rough times.
