Precious Father God, thank you for bringing us up out of the miry clay, for daily cleaning us from impurities that are not pleasing to you. Lord God help us to have a surrendered heart to you and to realize that our entire purpose in life is to please you. For if we seek first the Kingdom of God and your righteousness, all things will be added unto us.
Brothers and sisters, those of us who have surrendered our lives to the Lord can surely remember the condition we were in when we first came to the Lord. Like little dirty children trekking in the house full of mud and dirt…with open arms God embraced us with dirt and all and began his cleaning process. Oh yes, this is a process that will take until the day we cross over to the other side to complete. This is the day that we will finally see God as Who He Really Is. Isn’t that a wonderful thing to look forward too? I think so.
According to Proverbs 6:16-19…There are six things that the Lord hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. Indeed, if we are guilty of any of these things, we have to be still and allow God to clean us up. We cannot cross over to the other side dirty. We cannot cross over to the other side unless we repent….Repent means to take a 180 degree turn away from sin toward God so that He can give us His righteousness.
We each have a role in his Kingdom business and that is why He is shaping us up and shipping us out to the battlefield to do our part in His Kingdom business. Romans 5:4 tells us …And endurance produces character, and character produces hope. So the more we go through trial, the stronger we get and the more hopeful we become because we see that God has helped us overcome our trials.
