Heavenly Father, we are so grateful for the life, food, shelter, and for a sound mind. We praise and honor you for your blessings for there are many who are hurting, homeless, and hungry at this very moment…do not have a sound mind. We pray your grace surround them and supply all their needs. Father God, help us to always be grateful, and thankful, that according to Jeremiah 29:11, your plans for us are for good and not for disaster, to give us a future and a hope. Thank you for giving us the strength to hold on and be strong no matter how things may seem. And Lord, please give more strength to those who are weak and weary give them your joy in the name of Jesus we pray.
In 1 Corinthians 15:58 we are encouraged to be “steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain” The Corinthian believers were listening to stories, ideas and beliefs that were different from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Their faith was shaken, they were beginning to doubt what they were originally taught by Paul, the apostle.
Paul encouraged them to be steadfast and unmovable. He encouraged them to be spiritually strong and deeply rooted and grounded in the work and the word of the Lord. When we are steadfast, we know what we believe and nothing can persuade us otherwise. We are steadfast when we cannot be persuaded with false doctrine and every teaching we hear. Ephesians 4:14 says “We will not be influenced when people try to trick us with lies so clever they sound like the truth.” You see brothers and sisters, we are in those day where deceitful false teachers are coming out of the woodwork in great numbers. Paul was very disappointed that the Corinthians happily put up with whatever anyone told them even if they preached a different Jesus and a different spirit. (see 2 Corinthians 11:4)
There are many who listen to what sounds good to the ears, however, those who do not study the Bible to seek the truth can easily be led astray. For this reason God wants us to study the Bible. The Bible is the most power spiritual weapon we can depend on to keep us from going down with the enemy. It is time to take it very seriously so we can fight the good fight of faith. Go ahead, dust your Bible off, take it out of hiding, pull it off the shelf and begin the journey… learning truth you have never known. Don’t wait until we’re in the thick of the battle to pull out your Bible. Amen and Amen!
